Having joined the Royal Photographic Society I aimed to achieve their Distinctions, the first level being an LRPS where they judge the panel of work assessing for technical and composition value.
The mid range Distinction is the ARPS - an Associateship of the RPS. To gain this level one must put together a cohesive panel of work having presented the adjudicators with a Statement of Intent first. This effectively states what you set out to achieve and why. My ARPS panel was based on my Dreams and aimed to show that dreams can be ethereal, surreal or dark and brooding.
